#36 Retro CRT Effect

Barrel distortion, scanlines, RGB phosphors

The CRT effect recreates old cathode ray tube monitors for retro-styled games. Barrel distortion warps UVs outward from center to simulate curved glass. Scanlines multiply color by a vertical sine wave to show horizontal beam gaps. RGB phosphor subpixels modulate each color channel based on horizontal position modulo 3. A vignette darkens edges to complete the analog look.
