Blender 4.x Animation Workflow Tips

Blender 4 has some amazing animation improvements. Here are my top workflow tips:

  1. Asset Browser for Poses — save your key poses as assets and drag them onto the timeline. Huge time saver for reusable animations.
  2. Graph Editor Modifiers — use the noise modifier for secondary motion like breathing or idle sway. Set it and forget it.
  3. NLA Strips for Layering — stack locomotion + upper body actions + facial. Way cleaner than one giant action.

Anyone have other tips to share?

The Asset Browser for poses is a game changer. I also recommend setting up custom bone shape widgets — makes selecting controls in the viewport so much faster.

Another tip: use Ctrl+Shift+E to copy the entire pose, then paste with flipped to create mirrored walk cycle keys instantly.
